Can't calibrate wheel w/ GP4 9.6

I have a Logitech Wingman Formula GP. (non-FFB)
It has been working just fine with the pre-patched version of GP4.
I installed the 9.6 patch and now I can't calibrate the pedals of my wheel set. The pedals quit operating. the steering wheel and buttons work fine though.

I do have the latest logitech software.

Even the patch FAQ lists the wheel as working with the patch.

the wheel works fine within the Controller portion of Control Panel as well.

I tried contacting Infogrames about this, but don't anticipate an answer from them. (didn't Microprose/Infogrames disband the Geoff Crammond group?)

Other than getting a new wheel, anybody have any tips on getting this wheel to work with the patch?

is the patch worth using?

My wingman formula works fine,are you using a saved wheel config from the unpatched version?Try setting up the wheel again.

i am using a saved wheel config file from the unpatched GP4.
and I have tried reinstalling and recalibrating.
nothing seems to work.

I still need to try the method listed in the first reply above.
