I just finished playing GT Racing 2002 - an overlay program for F12002 - and while it's visually a bit buggy still, it is rather entertaining.
It's a bear to download at about 250 mg but it's very fun to drive if you like GT and GTP cars. It's still new so there aren't any add on cars or patches yet, but at least now I feel like i didn't throw away my money on EA's game.

I played the 2001 version, but not bothered with a 250 Mb download on 56k for obvious reasons :)

I believe it is very good though. Although I liked the last one, I never got into it for some reason.

not into GT cars but can't wait till the 1977 f1 mod comes out.
there are some sweet in game shots of the 77 mclaren at the
simmods website. the detail is awesome and the mod members
will spend an equal amount of time working on the physics files.

May have to spend a little time setting it up but it's the same with most racing games..

for your information the GT world rank had more submissions in two wekks than in the whole life of F12002....

the game is just perfect! even the portuguese magazines did reviews of it

Not crazy about this anyway.
I agree - the static shots are fabulously detailed - the cars are great.
What I'm finding: in multiplayer (at least on my LAN system) is that at certain points of some tracks my opponent's car will sometimes disappear for a split second or 'flicker'. This is repeatable, for example when I'm pulling up close from behind to pass at the A1 ring coming into Remus.
I may not have correctly characterized that as visual bug - maybe it's a performance problem (my son's machine is pretty slow)

You don't need to register, all you need is a copy of F12002

Thats the page for downloading the mod.

I downloaded it last week and have been playing it non-stop! If you have a decent internet connection, you can have some great races! Decent gfx and physics, and with all the aids off, can be quite challenging!

Only if you could do this with GP4!!!!

Oke i got F12002 this week, in the F1 department it really sucks bigtime in comparison with GP3/GP4. But....like already mentioned there are some great Mods outthere that make it a whole new game. I still have to get the GTR 2002 Mod from a friend, but i already installed the BMW M3 Mod and the Alfa 147 cup Mod. It's awesome, i'm becoming an expert drifter, jihaa. No kidding aside, if you love racing, then you will love and appriciate the different Mods for F12002, be glad that they are there because F12002 on it's own is really not word buying or playing.
