Most of you will already know, but if you delete this *.exe (first end task in task manager) your PC will speed up under Win98.

Loadqm.exe is located in your windows dir.

Laodqm.exe does have no obvious function, it is most likely Microsoft spyware and it uses resources. You can safely delete the file and the loadqm.lgc (link) that is ususally to befound in c:\windows\applogs

If there is a loadqm.exe in xp as well (I think there is, since it comes with most things you install, like kazaa or MSN) you can delete it as well. If you are not sure, end the loadqm process - otherwise you can't delete it - and rename loadqm.exe to loadqm.old. Now you can name it back in case problems occure. But trust me, they will not!

I you got a problem with Microsoft spying on your every move, you should get xp-antispy @ [www.xp-antispy.de]. I have yet to find aything for win98 and winMe that targets the built-in spyfunctions in Microsofts products.

Also, to get rid of all the spyware and maleciuos programming that gets dumped on your system every time you use the internet, get Ad-Aware from [www.lavasoftusa.com].

Both programs are freeware.

This si a good page to check what al these little programs, that run in the back of your system, do apart from wasting resources.

LoadQM.exe

(Microsoft) This task loads the MSN Queue Manager and is installed when you install MSN Explorer or MSN Messenger. LOADQM gobbles up system resources and appears on most end-users

And I quote:
"People, In order to disable Loadqm.exe permenantly, click "Start", then "Run", Then Type "Msconfig" [without the quots], Then choose "Startup" From the top menu, Then Search for the Loadqm.exe file in the list, Then UNcheck the Box on it's left, Then click "Ok", It will ask you to restart the computer, After restart a message will pop up and say that u are running in.....etc , click on don't show me this message again then........ ur done. To check if it was permenantly removed, click "Alt+Ctrl+Del", REMEMBER:-- Every time MSN Massenger is updated to later versions it will put that file back on the "Startup" list, so make sure to remove it again. Over and out! ur welcome. "
