MenuBackgrounds

Does anyone know which editor/utility I need to change the menu background pictures?I want to install one of my menubackground sets from Gp3S2k into Gp4.Thanks.

Hmm, menus are no more statics in GP4...
so if you want to change anims, you will need to do an anim and compress it with bink (www.radgametools.com) then to replace original animation (with .bnk format).
If you want to change sliding patterns on top of anim, you can use Carset Creator if Jon as added the gpi import/export function we developped together.
Finally, if you want to change track images at race loading, just change the track images in one of the folder of gp4.

Where are they within the game?Can't seem to find them.....earlier versions of the Gp series had them in a .bin file.

gp4/menudata/pc/gp2001/somewhere here

try to download the smaller update pack (32 Mg) from Flo.. and install it in a new folder.. there you can see all the new files he has...
one of them is the one, for sure.. it makes your search smaller

they are these ones!!!

At my known, you can't edit bik files, you can only create new ones, creating any avi animation then convert it to bik with the tool i told you in my firt post.

Thanks bud,was just at they're(Radtools) website and just figured out that as well.I'll probably play around with the menus and see if I can make some new ones.

use radtools to save as avi, edit it to your hearts content, convert back to bik using radtools

you can edit any bik file...just use the "convert a file " option in rad tools making sure you have the right output type for what you need ....

i'll be waiting for them impatiently

Hey Nuno,how have you been!!!Thanks for the info earlier.Not to sure if I can change the menubackgrounds......has something to do with the fps,if I change the fps,all the .bik files in Gp4 get modified.I'll work on it,hopefully I'll figure it out.

Hi Guys,I finally figured out the menu background pics for Gp4.They are all finished.......just testing them before sending them out.They are for the 2001 season.If you guys like them I will make a set for 2002 as well.
