Hi everyone, remember me? lol no thought not. im back from my sabbatical armed with a new pc. and a new girlfriend (btw university is so bloody great so many new fit girls)

so i can now run gp4. it runs ok but even better after i alltered the config file. thanks nuno or whoever realised what u could do.

im so glad i logged on to grandprix3.com again,

its actually freaky coz i accidently clicked on it in favourite to go to favourites and saw the post "supefast gp4" ...

fate huh?

anyway on to the purpose of this post. i noticed people mentioning about the sky messages and i can confirm that i too have this most annoying that the game slows down a bit when sky messages are present.

jut wondering is there a solution to this yet? any tweak that can be made in the graphic config file.

anyway not to worry. hope everyone is well.

With the patch it comes a new f1graphic.cfg that let you disable sky messages, so you can start guessing whn the other guys are pitting...

OK heres a list of things.

Carset Creator 4
Driving Italia's 2002 carset
GPx Patch by Rene Smidt (no GPxset compatibility yet tho :( )
GP4 performance editor
GP4 Master
2002 Helmet set
Ellis' proper 2002 carshapes (he did a great job on these)

Theres other stuff but not as major.

Dont touch any of the patches - if you want to know why check out the last 40 or so threads in this forum ;)

ah Charlies back :)

"was there actually an official release of a patch? "

yup, and it seems to have the same bugs as before YIPPEE!

The new patch i belive allows you to edit the graphics config file and turn off sky messages, but it takes the arcade stuff with it i think?

I duno, i dont play GP4 anymore and sure as hell not downloading any patch till its defiantly worth it

Disable sky messages is not a solution.

It's the same to say: "I have bugs with pit crew...solution? Don't pit anymore."

This is only a workaround,not a fix..IMHO

Well it does get rid of the sky messages, and therefore the problem

Anyway, Geoff said he doesnt put in TV timing on normal views because real drivers cant see it.

But i didnt know that Kimi and JV etc can see massive yellow sky messages accross the top of the screen when Rubens pits or JPM does a fastest lap? I also bet it didnt cause huge power loss and slow down in the cars

Without sky messages u get more relaism and less fps loss

Charlie, Rupert's gone (where did he go?) Vader's away whilst he gets a new internet connection, Morbid has university work. Everyone else (including MANY new faces) is still here. btw take a look at Morbid's buglist. Its amazing....the whole forum tested gp4 for bugs and that's the result
