I cannot get GP4 to run properly. The first time it started all well but crashed when I begun to drive and since then I havent been able to run GP4. Everytime I start the game the screen goes black two times and then just crashes back to the desktop without any error messages.

I have read a lot of proposals and this is what I have tried so far:
* Installed the latest drivers for my sound and graphics card.
* Reinstalled GP4 (a couple of times).
* Looked for any f1state.* files but I couldnt find any.
* Turned hardware acceleration for my sound card off.

Below is my system specs. Does any1 have any more suggestions about what to do? I really want to be able to play this great game!

Duron 800
ATI Radeon 64 DDR VIVO
SB Live! Value
Windows XP (with all updates)

go into the GP4 folder and delete the following files

f1gstate.sav

f1gstate.bak

the game should now start.

After playing it again, make these files read only and this shouldnt happen again

OK i experienced crashes and found that running the now legendary gpx patch(3.03 is out now)in debug mode stop the crashes altogether.

It may work for you or it may not but its worth a try.

do u have f1gstate.tmp or soemthing along those lines?

If so the game crashed whislt saving the information.

Delete it, and it should work
