Can anyone tell me why this here screenshot won't be winning any competitions, and how i might go about fixing these problems?

<img src="[www.desflynn.utvinternet.com];

This happens at certain places on all tracks, where the car shading goes strange colours and grass and gravel, kerbs etc turn bright white/green etc. i've got static enviro maps turned on (no difference with dynamic...), and tried the adv. car shader, but no luck. Arse. I was wondering if anyone else has these problems, or might know how to fix them...

Otherwise, i can get her running at arount 100/115 po at 1024x768, with only a few graphics.cfg changes, and most things turned on 'cept full mirrors...

Cheers y'all!

Unfortunately i did :( The first time i installed and ran the game i got this rubbish. it's less pronounced in most places, and only happens around about half of each circuit. what's up, i just don't know. Seems to be problems with lighting or somethin.

ps, how do you post those pic links?

That's pretty psychadelic. What's your video card?

it could be heat related. Make sure you are not over heating your CPU or video card.

32 MB Stealth 3 S540 PCI Card... I am pretty sure this is the culprit. I doubt that it supports TnL functionality, and that is what GP4 uses to render lighting effects. You might want to try and turn lighting effects off and the same with environment mapping.

If the Tnl thing is the problem you can turn it off by putting the line: Tnl=0
beneath your card on the text file 'cards' in the GP4 directory

thanks for all the help, but its not:

overheating - take the case off and i get a cool breeze, also the graphics 'feature' only happens at certain points on tracks, and always the same points, so i'd probably rule that one out...

the tnl or enviroment mapping - gp4 always sets tnl to back to 0 even if i put it on manually, and with all enviroment maps off, or even just static maps, the result is the same beautiful graphics :( Bummer.

Here's one i made earlier:

it's the BLUE gravel in melbourne. er. aqua by my reckoning...

Cheers y'all

Unfortunately, no good :( Why am i doomed to wait for a patch that may arrive before gp5?!?!

Thanks for the help though :)
