Possible Problem here.

I found what i though was a Directx9 remover, however when i tried to download it , the file was the same size as the Directx9 Beta file that I am also downloading !.

Now i don't know what I'm getting :(

Right, i've been snooping about a bit.

U can get the directx eradicator from here :-

But as cai says, its not XP compatible. However i also found out that if you're using XP then u just need to create a system restore point b4 installing the directx9 beta :)


Oh and by the way , apparantly the beta version expires on Aug 20th.

Oh yeah, I didn't realise system restore would create it...

But hang on. If you have to completely reinstall windows to get rid of the direct x, surely it means installing it can't be 'undone', which is what system restore does...

Well i'm going to try the eradicator anyway, i'll try running it in win 98 compatibility mode and see if that works

well the directx eradicator DID uninstall my version of directx, but i had a bit of trouble re-installing it. Eventually i restored my system and now everything is fine :)

OKay let me get something straight...has anyone downloaded this and tried restoring their system to have version 8.1, with windows XP?? It's just this expires on the 20th of August and I cant restor properly I'm screwed, so has anyone tried this.
