performance drops when race information is shown

I have gp4 installed on xp pro, with a 1000mhz pIII and a geforce 2 mx. The frame rates are good now, but there is one problem: when I'm racing and the yellow race information is shown, like: "Michael Schumacher is in the pits", or "Mika Hakkinen has won the race" the frame rate drops intensively and I get the slow motion feeling. When the text is gone the frame rate goes up again.
Anybody a suggestion what to do about this? I already lowered the frame rate in the graphic options part, but it didn't change it.

i had this problem too, update ur video drivers and it should fix it.

No, this a problem the patch will hopefully fix. Updating your drivers don't eradicate the problem (atleast not for the rest of us).
