@il dottore - imo i wud go for an amd processor rather than intel. first they are much much better valuem and secondly the intel processors generate lots of heat and draw alot of power in comparison.

In turn, AMD's take longer to do a lot of desktop activities, or processor intensive things (such as rendering - gaming is a slightly different matter). tbh there isn't that much difference between the two, but AMD's perform better in some areas, and Intel performs better in others so they are very evenly matched

I guess it all comes down to if you're gonna be doing mostly a lot of gaming or just desktop work.

i do both but its a good computer i guess. and im not paying so i am not the one who desides how much its gonna cost. this is what i can get

@ il dotorre - I wud suggest the ati x800gt it is similar in price (£110) and has fantastic performance for the price.

in the end it is up 2 u, but this is just my suggestion

yeah i know, here its about 50 euro's expensiver. but the x700 pro is alright to. richard said to me the other day that the x600 and the x800 wont make that big difference for gp4.

@ il dottore - yeah hes probably right, i wish gp4 use my graphics card power my pc is crippled by high settings and high res tracks

There really isn't as much difference as people make out between cpu and gfx, the myth of 90:10 in favour of cpu is basically bulls**t. It's more like 60:40 or perhaps 70:30, but the x600 and x800 really won't make any difference as they didn't change that much between them if I remember rightly

I am just buying the x700 pro. its a pretty good card and will play all the games i want so thats ok.
