my render isn't that great.. too fast made ;-)

It's too reflective and the specular isn't nice.. And the tyres aren't great either :(

Have to use more time to do renders.. ;-) that's all

Wonderfully fine words but time does not equal quality.

Use vray, that'll prove that quality takes skill

Nice words too

But if you take more time you can finetune the settings that are used at that moment, which improves quality Zep.. I use other techniques already, but learning that also takes time

And ofcourse you need skill, but even this can be learned.. Only the creativity can't be learned.. you gotta have the fantasy to make original renders.. but again, that cán become better when you do it often enough..

If you said that to a d00d in the CG industry they would laugh their nuts off at you.

Yeah fine tweak the settings, but these d00ds are on a deadline, and quite often, I am too, you don't the time to endlessly tweak, that's why I said you need skill. You can't learn in a few months exactly what materials will produce what results in any given situation, ie light intensity, effects, atmosphere you want to achieve etc.

Time is the issue, why do you think these guys try as hard as they possibly can not to use GI?

Never mind..

For me it isn't about time, it's about the fun.. And I'm talking about myself.. and not about those guys who earn their money with it, or study on such things.

I'm glad I don't have deadlines..

Obviously you're not busy enough doing real life stuff then if you don't have "deadlines"

lol, what the hell does my real-life got to do with it?

If you mean deadlines, for school for example.. Ofcourse I got 'em

But not for rendering, yet

Obviously everything I've just said has shot right over your head so I won't bother trying to explain a "real world scenario" again

Zep never mind, your right.....

just let me be who I am, and let me talk ****.. never mind

And to be clear, you don't have to explain a 'real-world-scenario' like you said.. I know, believe me

Ok, last words said, guys, show us more renders

Guys phenomenal renders, really all of you, great work (if only I could do it).
Keep it up, and please make some Mclaren Mp4-21 and Ferrari renders, please.

That's probably my fault, I didn't make a huge garage, this is more of (another) quick test.

Well if you call 50mins quick I spose...

@ralphi: I prefer those over any other 3d rims available at the moment, plus I made them :P

@il: Well that's your opinion, I happen to think the reflections aren't that far off

Respect !!!
As I wrote you yesterday, you are a "render MASTER" Zep.

Regarding, garage, it's my mistake... I had to say you that left and right side walls are on the same tga, sorry.

The rims are beautifuls but may be the tyres looks a little bit...plastic.

In any case great work and thanks again to have done this nice render with
my Toro Rosso v2. It's an honor for me.

Is it done with Vray ??

Partly, I ran it in 2 passes, an ambient / car reflecion pass in Brazil, then a specular pass in vray. The major reflections took up about 45mins of the render time cos I used a falloff map, with a raytrace sat in the black slot to reflect the garage more around the edges

@Jorpaes: about 50mins, I have a very poor computer, so it would have taken more like 15mins on something a little more up to date. Not to mention the 61 lights and huge number of polies in the scene ;)
