Hi guys. I had a go at painting, but I have no idea how to put these TGA files into the game... could someone put them into a nice 2007 carset for me and email me the carset? I would like the helmet to replace Alex Wurz.

Thanks!

Your answer lies at RealGPX, with the TexResizer app: [www.realgpx.com]

You shall save your TGA as .tex, the format used by the game. You need to have the program create smaller resolutions of your helmet, and have it saved as a .tex. Then, depending on which driver you replace in game (say Fernando Alonso in the #1 car, that would make your helmet have the name driver1_1, driver1_2) and drop it in your game, given you also have Easywad by ZaZ.

Thanks mate, but it doesnt work now - GP4 just crashes (I used wadupdater rather than easywad).

And you followed the directions step by step? Even if you put a different resolution helmet in there it should still load, that's weird. Write here what you did so we can help

which one needs to be driver1_1? the 1024x2048 or 512x1024 image?

shouldn't it be 2048x1024 (driver1_1) and 1024x512 (driver1_2)?

both are the same size, 2048x512 (or 1024x256, 512x128, you get the idea :P) though of course nothing prevent you from using one larger than the other, so let's say 2048x512 and 1024x256, but most commonly, both are the same size.

I'm against sigpics

Monil, that will make him stick to it ;). I don't know, I don't think it's bad but there's something that I don't like about it. And you know you will change your mind, you have to come up with something you love without anyone's opinion before you make it a real one!
