When a team becomes available the first manage on the list will be offered the job, if he rejects the offer the next person on the list will be offered the job. If more than one team is available the first person on the list can choose which team to sign for. When a manager inherits a team they must aware that they will also inherit any drivers or team takeovers (such as Red Bulls takeover at Jaguar) as well as the team’s current budget.

Current Standings2005 World ChampionshipsThe Rules and Regulations1) Race WeekendWhere possible, there will be one race per week (unless a test session is scheduled).
1.1 Free Practice- Each race weekend starts with a 30-minute free practice session
- A setup bonus is available every race weekend during free practice. The closer a team's two drivers times are the better the reward. The top 3 teams get a 30 driver performance bonus and a 5 bhp boost for qualifying and the race whilst places 4th to 6th get a 15 driver performance bonus and a 3 bhp boost. Setup bonuses do not carry over to the next race.
1.2. Qualifying- Qualifying is a 30-minute session.
1.3 Race- Races are run at 100% race distance with points being awarded to the top 8 finishers as below:
1st / 10pts
2nd / 8pts
3rd / 6pts
4th / 5pts
5th / 4pts
6th / 3pts
7th / 2pts
8th / 1pt
2) Performances2.1 Team Performances- Each team performance is calculated based on their position in the previous year's Constructor's Championship, as well as which engine, fuel supplier, tyre supplier, technical director and brake manufacturer they use along with their pre-season testing plans.
- Team are awarded the following base BHP values according to their final positions:
1st / 711
2nd / 710
3rd / 709
4th / 708
5th / 707
6th / 706
7th / 705
8th / 704
9th / 703
10th / 702
11th / 701
- Every teams starts the season with a base reliability value of 1000.
2.2 Driver PerformancesMid Season Boosts- Performance points are awarded to all finishers in all three sessions during a race weekend.
- All performance points earned in practice will go into the driver’s qualifying and race performance (Test Drivers only)
- All performance points earned in qualifying will go into the driver’s qualifying performance
- All performance points earned in the race will go into the driver’s race performance.
End of Season Perf Boosts- At the end of each season, the amount of performance points each driver has earned during the season is divided by 10 to level the field
- Additional perf points are also awarded for seasons completed, victories, podiums, points total, fastest laps, pole positions and for winning the Driver's Championship (IRL not included).
- Drivers also receive perf boosts for starting races and taking part in Free Practice and Testing Sessions.
- Perf points are deducted if a driver fails to finish a race.
2.3 Test Sessions- Every team has the opportunity to take part in Pre-Season and Mid-Season test sessions that occur throughout the season.
- Teams can take part in Pre-Season testing free of charge.
- Teams can attend as many mid-season test sessions as they wish, but must also pay a fee of £1m for each session they do attend.
- At a test session, each team can choose a set of tyres to run (Soft or Hard) and a Simulation Program (Qualifying or Race). Each tyre and program has a different effect on performance and reliability.
- Testing will be attended by all three drivers of each team.
3. DriversTeams need two race drivers and one test driver. These drivers can be swapped around as much as you want. All driver contracts are one year and the drivers will become available for negotiation at different times during the season. Usually, the driver will accept the highest bid but a small “home team discount” will be given to their current team if they’re happy with their current team. Drivers can become unhappy if they’re demoted to a test driver for example. Drivers can be released from their contracts with no penalty because the salaries are paid in full at the start of the season. Replacement drivers will be paid pro-rated (for example a driver’s salary is 5M and there’s 50% of the season remaining, he will be paid 2.5M)
3.1 Pay driversSome drivers have sponsors who will pay you for hiring these drivers. For example, if you hire a pay driver whose sponsors pay 4M and the salary you give out to them is 3M, you’ll get 1M. If you offer the same driver 6M salary, you’ll have to pay 2M. Pay drivers can't be fired during the season. Sponsor payouts are factored into the price of the driver on the drivers market.
4. Prize moneyTeams will get prize money from race weekends and at the end of the season.
