GP4 crashing constantly on Windows 10

I just want to precede this by saying I am a total newbie as far as GP4 goes but I have tried a couple steps to fix this issue:

* changing resolution to 1920x1080
* running as admin and in compatibility mode (xp sp 2) for both .exe files

Basically, the issue I have is that my game becomes extremely laggy and crashes a lot (basically every other click) when I try to navigate between menu screens and change settings. Sometimes white boxes appear on the screen before the crash happens, and attempting to start a race causes it to CTD every time.

looks like it does not like your
binkw32.dll
try replacing it for starters
