Are the physics of the original and F1 2001/2002 mods right?

I mean they get away really easily. The brakes lock up and the back gets away in the corners too resulting in the car spinning often. I've been trying out some other mods like the 2005, 2006 and 2007 mods and the physics and the car feels much more forgiving. How do you guys feel about them? Were the cars really so nervous back then? Is that why? Obviously they were much harder to drive, I'm not denying. If you look at the old races many drivers used to spin out on their own. Even top guys like Montoya.
