Max RPM

I need the help of the bright minds on this forum!

Firstly is there any possible way to set a different rev limit for the player and ai?

If not, is there anything I can do to limit how much revs I use out of corners (except watch the limiter of course!). Something which will limit me artificially to a rev limit.

I'm finding that the ai use about 14,700 rpm through the gears (that's the rev limit in the physics file) but for some reason I can go to 15,200 or there abouts.

Any help greatly appreciated

Not that I know of, on both counts unfortunately.

(The rest of this is speculation, so make of it what you will)
This is because of the way GP4 enforces the rev limit; rather than being a single hard limit, it has three limits.
This can be seen in a GPxSet.log file, after using a physics set.

Patching max RPM1 from 16600.000000 to 15000.000000
Patching max RPM2 from 16800.000000 to 15180.722656
Patching max RPM3 from 17000.000000 to 15361.445313

So, while my physics file is limited to 15k RPM, the actual maximum RPM is 15361 RPM.
My guess is that the AI are bound by the 'max RPM1', and the human player is not.

In the 2016 gp4forever mod I have set 14770 (like this in the GP4 Physics Editor tool mask) and:

Patching max RPM1 from 16600.000000 to 14770.000000
Patching max RPM2 from 16800.000000 to 14947.952148
Patching max RPM3 from 17000.000000 to 15125.903320

Times before, I had elaborated another power torque curve using other parameters that do not work well for a file replacement mod (I do not know why):

Patching max RPM1 from 16600.000000 to 14370.970000
Patching max RPM2 from 16800.000000 to 14544.113281
Patching max RPM3 from 17000.000000 to 14717.258789
