Do you mean that spending hours and hours of our free time, working hard to share new stuff with the community is a lack of respect?
We are making cars for GP4. If you want to use them into your game, you don't need unlocked shapes, right?
Authors are free to release work the way they want, whenever they want. We are not paid for that and we are not obliged to. This is not for glory, just because we have got the passion of F1 and GP4 and that we want to share it with others. Lack of respect toward the community, you said?
I think that everybody knows the rules of GP4 community. Is it so hard to ask permission of an author to modify his work for another project and to accept sometimes that he doesn't want to for several reasons? Isn't it a lack of respect? What a strange point of view.
Some people made offerts to buy my works but I said no because this is not into the spirit of the community and that I am not a professional who want to earn money with it. So, i don't think that sharing our work for free with the community is a lack of respect. And this is my right to lock the shapes if I want to. I don't know what is the problem with GP4 players.
But, as a modder, you should understand that seeing people releasing works from others in public on their own name is a bit disappointing and that it did not encourage us to continue... For your private use, do what you want...
This is my opinion
