Murray Walker Commentary [First Release]

Here's the first release of Murray Walker's commentary for GP4.
Thanks to SDI for the most recent version of GPxPatch for adding new sound events.
Thanks to Bizarre Creations for the commentary files from Formula 1 on PlayStation.

The commentary sound for entering the points can be changed to suit whichever points system is in use by moving IntoPoints.wav into the desired slot in soundset.ini.

How do you extract files from that game?

Great to see someone's done this I recently ripped all the commentary from F1 97 and was thinking of doing something along these lines, with added Martin chatter.

(Slightly offtopic: All the commentary for Rosset, Sospiri, Lola and Villeneuve is still on the disc!)

I will be doing other editions as well including Murray and Martin and James Allen and Martin Brundle.

Just remember to include "You're right there Murray"

You need a program called "jpsxdec" and the file from the disc called "English.xai". It's pretty straight forward from there.

I tried that a while ago and couldn't get it to load any sounds from F1/F197. Good to hear someone got it working!

slightly off topic, but here's a rare video of a pre-release version of F1 97 for playstation featuring 24 cars and the Lola! (although its just the driver / team tv graphic)
