Another PO question

Okay, so I've gotten GP4 up and running again on my old computer and it runs quite nice.
However, I've noticed that the PO is on about 120-150 when I drive the T-cam and some of the other onboard cameras.
If I then switch to the trackcams, the PO goes steadly at 50-90 depending on how many cars that's in the camera shoot.
at the start it's at over 120 but that's how it's been always for me so that's not a problem

I still use lod0 only and I've disabled mirrors completly so is there any way to fix this?

Extract your cars.wad, and use TexResizer to scale down your textures. Then recompile your cars.wad and it'll be a lot faster :)

I could do that with Slimtex aswell ;)

however, that's something I rather not do as I would love to have the graphics on high :)
Only thing I've changed in this old computer is the graphicscard and it's not worse than the old card.
Otherwise I could play GP4 on high without these problems before .. :(

Of course, just personal preference ;)

So you have run GP4 on the same computer with high resolution graphics, and it worked fine..?

yepp, I did. So I wonder why it does not work now that way now.
Don't get me wrong, it still looks good enough, just that the PO is high while driving
in t-cam but not in Trackcams.. why is that?

What cars are you attempting to use Eric?

A lot of the new for 2012 and 2013 cars come in super high-res with no compression when saved as tex files which make them huge.

True they look fantastic but they brought my PC to a standstill, so I just opened them in slimtex and batch saved them to the usual quality.

After that everything ran pretty damn good seeing that my PC is from 2007.

Good to see you still around GPG anyway mate.

I've always resized the biggest texfiles. I don't use any texfiles that's larger than 5mb.
And for that matter, I have a 2009 carset installed right now

You should try use lower lods, it would make PO smaller. Maybe post your f1graphics.cfg here to see if there is something we could do...also you could downside textures of the tracks as they are big PO hit as well if they are above 1024x1024 resolution.
