Please can someone help me install mods? :) .RAR unopenable?

Hello, I just got this game and love it I just downloaded some mods but they are .RAR files and I cannot open them? please can someone help me? thanks

You need special progamms to open .rars .

You can use WinRar for that or 7zip. 7zip is freeware .
