Hello there!

Recently I've been told that i can open my psd file with car livery with zmodeler, so that I can see the livery on a 3d model. Please someone tell me how is this possible, as when I try to open my psd file or import it it says "invalid file signature. file: Opensaveservice.cpp line:676"

PLEASE HELP !!!

PS If this is not possible - please tell me how I can see my psd file on 3d model?!

You can't import a psd file into Zmodeler ( ver 1.07b or Zmodeler2).

Only TGA, JPG, PNG, DDS, BMP and DIB files are supported...

I suggest you to save your PSD file into TGA (after merging your layers) before to assign your textures into Zmodeler.

It should work, even with Photoshop 6 or later version..

1- Which OS are you using?
2- Which version of Zmodeler?
3- Did you save in TGA 32 bits? (RLE box must be disabled)

It could also be due to your 3D file..... Which file is it? z3d, 3ds or something else?

1. Windows 7
2. ZModeler 2.0.4
3. YES (I don;t see any RLE box to be disabled)

Which 3d file you mean? I try to open the saved TGA file with Zmodeler?!

Alright, you've misunderstood something there.

You need to open the 3d-file in ZModeler (which is a .3ds or a .z3d) of the car. Afterwards in ZModeler (in the Material Editor - hotkey 'E';) you can assign the textures in TGA-format to that specific car/3d-file.

Okay It seems I dont quite get it.

I downloaded the GP2 car template from http://www.gp4db.com/index.php?category=cars&section=Templates. It seems that either there isn't such 3d-file or I can't find it.

Then my question is "where's the 3d file of the GP2 car?"

Thank you in advance :)

The .gp4 files are the 3d files you're looking for which contain the carshape - the psd file is just the car texture. I presume you need to import the gp4 file with a plugin into zmodeler, then assign the texture file converted to tga to the model.

Still looking for that plugin, so If someone knows about it and from where to download it (and maybe how to install it) - please share that information with me. I tried with 3d Editor programs and both I used can't open gp4 files :S

Actually, I don't think zmodeler 1.07 needs a plugin - try that :)
The reason you can't open gp4 files with other programs is that (as should be obvious from the name) it's a format only used for gp4 - you can open them in gp4 builder but it's not a modelling program.

Hmm now I open the gp4 file but I cant allign the texture. I merged all layers and saved it as a TGA then go to Zmodeler view->texture management->textures browser-> point on my TGA file but the car still remains white ?!
