Custom track issues

Ok ive made a custom track based on my local town, so its not particularly great. But im having issues

Anyway i took the monza.gp4, removed all the scenes, added in the map.
Then made the track based on the map, added in the pitlane and all the flags which show correctly.
Changed all the cameras so they point at sectors on my track.
Deleted the map scene from the gp4.
Created the .col and the .bin's
saved the .dat and the .gp4
created the wad
Put both the wad and the dat into the game and.... crashed.

I realise this gives away nothing and you can probably figure out nothing, but im basically looking for somewhere to put all the problems i have with this track and people can help me solve them...
If the crash log file or the track files are needed just ask...

At the moment my issues are -I've read a few tutorials, but i can't figure out how to make the connecting rails between the pitlane and the track.
-Is it possible to add more cameras, or do i have to stick with the monza default of 14?
-Why is my file crashing!

Yeh sorry if this is a bit over the top, but im probably going to have a lot of issues with this... oh and as for layout im pretty much looking for a dat file with no outside buildings, like the 1976 A1 ring or the 1979 interlagos is at the moment, just bare details.

Thanks for any help...

When does it crash? When you click Drive? In the middle of the loading screen? After the loading is finished?

And no, it's not possible to add more cameras. If you want more, choose a .dat which has more, like Spa.

Then the problem is in the .dat file. Most likely something at the pitlane. Possibly at "the connecting rails between the pitlane and the track".

May I take a look at it?

Yup sure sure here is the link: [www.mediafire.com]

Just a few notes about it, there are no elevations in it "yet", but in the future there will be.
There are no runoffs at the moment, or banks at all because its built as a street circuit, so i kinda removed them all ;)

My guess is that your track crashes because there's no room for the pit garages.

You need to add Bank Description (F5) commands in all the sectors between Pit Lane Fences Begin and Pit Lane Fences End. Then make the banks on the garages side about 8 meters wide.

Try doing that, and see if it works. ;-)

Cheers for the advice prblanco that was probably one of the things.
I've added the 8m of pit banking to both sides, mainly as im not sure (i think its right side as its monza), but it still crashes when i click drive on the menu...
and i also have both bank descriptions on each side for every sector between and including pit fences start/end, but still not working...

It's not working because pitlane sectors must not come at 90° of track sector.
I just reworked the end of your pitlane to give it a more gentler curve from p66 to p75 and it works now.

Oh i did not know that, guess i know now, is there any limit to the angle that you can have?

If possible can you send me the reworked file please laurent? :)

There's no exact knowledge about this pitlane/track angle.

Here is the modified .dat, it's a quick and raw job though.

Have either of you (laurent and prblanco), tried the files in game? I've just tried it and there are no textures or anything, just a straight grey floor, not sure where to go from here because i have no experience! Although saying that i am thinking of scrapping the dat that i have made because having tried it in game like that, everything is suddenly a lot tighter than i thought, all the straights a lot smaller, and i really didnt realise it would be like that!
