Tear Off Visors

Idea:

When in a wet race, rain hits the visor (in cockpit view) right? Well cant we have dirt occasionally hit the visor (stain it)? And if thats possible, can we have it so that when you pit, they clean it. AND we should be able to press a button and the driver is able to rip off a visor, clean again!

Any ideas of WIP or the credibility of the idea?

Ps. My good friend Ian says something similar was in F1 97.

hehehe!!!

you could make an animated tga thru gpxCinfo that 'tears' off the visor.
you could also have a mostly transparent tga cover the visor with specks on it. then every so often a different one comes up thats 'dirtier'.

thinks a minute...

very plausible and realistic...

..ish.

take a lot of figuring out and testing

I know, how hard is that to do?

Can you actually make animated TGA files...cause I tried when I was working on a fictional TV logo a few months ago and couldnt figure it out. I use Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop 7 if that's any help.

So you are saying I need an animated TGA which over time collects dirt? I will build it, I need more information about how to put it in GPxPatch.

you cant have animated tga.
but you can have one tga showing for some time, then another.
lets say it gets ripped off every 5 laps.
have 10 tgas of increasingly dirtiness.
show noe from 0 to 1/2 lap
dirty_1 from 1/2 to 1 lap
dirty_2 from 1 to 1&1/2
etc
then at the end show the 'animated hand' and restart the cycle..
its a lot of work, and mightnt look any good.

the animated hand will be one tga that shows for ? 1/10th of a second before moving a little bit.

wouldnt be too hard without the hand. just showing a fullscreen tga for certain periods.
dunno if theres a show only in cp view available?
