Yes you did. If somthing big goes wrong, I always format my disk.

Download Deamon Tools, or Alcohol 120% and make an image of the CD. They use these programs to make a virtual drive.

Clean the CD i got that error as well a number of times when i tried to reinstall the game.

how do you mean to clean the cd?

Go down your local computer shop and buy some CD Wipes, not too expensive I don't think, then use them to clean the CD's, if you stuck for that, try and find any type of ani-static cloth and use that to clean it.

If that don't work, theres no need to give up! Someone here will copy their GP4 CD for you, cause you own the original CD, so a copied CD with GP4 on isn't illegal!!!

Doesn't anybody listen??? I had same problem, I deleted Daemon tools and clone-CD and then GP4 installation worked perfectly!

So delete all virtual CD-drives from your computer.

Don't even nessesarily need to delete the Virtual Drives, Just disabling them in Device Manager will do the job! then when GP4 is installed, re-enable them, simple!

Man come on... try another cd rom... i had this kind of problem and thought may be cd's gone... but few days ago i changed by cd rom... not for this ofcourse but because it was old and totally screwed up... and guess what, gp4 installed perfectly. maybe this can help. try it with a cd rom of your friend.

what do you mean with virtual stuff? I don't have any daemon tools or clone-cd. I use Neo Burning Rom

I tried it several times again to re-install it: and now it stops at the anim.wad file (=16%) and it's the same error in the minimum setup

Try to uninstall nero burning rom, Then install GP4 and then install nero again.
