GP4-2009 Physics & Torques, Version 2.0 + Perf Generic on pg.1 [RELEASED]

Posted by Cyberacer
A long long time after releasing version 1.1, I release now this new version: 2.0.

- Why did I make it?
- Beacause I always seek for a better and better simulation of reality.

So, the new version of physics results in more realistic driving speeds, especially through low speed corners, chicanes and U-turns.
The new version of torques offers more power above 13000rpm and a max power of 804bhp at 17850rpm.

From the driver's point of view, this new version of physics and torques makes the car a bit more alive and nervous and I like that a lot when driving.

Find the new version in my signature, or at this link

I hope you 'll like it.

;-)

Nice.
Ill give it a try during this weekend.
Can you make a .cap file for csm version of the torque?

Regards
JC

despite not having to do with the topic i did the same (question) in the gp4-argentina (argentina) forum and in orkut community (ricardo lampert - brazil)... unfortunately nobody knows for sure what tool is used to generate these .cap files.

what tool is this? anyone out there knows? it's possible use a swap in the CSM but this (.cap) is much simpler :p

i think that you should talk with ZaZ.maybe he knows how to do that(some .cap files are included in zaz tools)

Their your wrong. A .cap file is done with a hex editor.
Taking the values of the torque you can create this. ;-)
Weired you dont know this, since your always showing
that you can do stuff with hex editors ;-)

Thats not how it works. You put in patch folder of csm
and your done. No need of additional things.

able to create if know where (don't think just using a HEX tool it is possible to do)... for answers like this can see why you get a lot of "friends" everywhere you go ;-)

Your way saying that knowbody knows how to create a .cap is better??????!!!
Dear god !!.

You dont know my friends of this community and i have many.

Hey guys, cool down a bit...

Two days ago, I made a working V8.cap file with a hex editor, after jcaranti's request:

I used as base a V8.cap file coming with ZaZ Tools installation.
The problem is that there are seven (7) hex numbers that precede of the torque values and editing them affects a lot the resulting power.
I already asked ZaZ about this and now I wait ...
as I don't have enough free time these days for further search and testing.

thanks, can these be used with any performance file?

Yes they can, but each performance file will result in different lap times and top speeds.
Lap times and top speeds depend also on the track magic data.

After some days I'll release a general 2009 performance file based on ver.2.0 of physics and torques.
So stay tuned. ;-)

I also have in mind the making of a pack with track specific performances and mgic datas.
But currently, my personal life does not allow making it in less than months... unless there are modders that would like to participate.
So, anyone interested may send PM.

hi cyber..

i installed your V2. and heres what i think:

its totaly different of V1. as you said.. its more nervous and i also like it.

but i realized something . if i set a team with 790 bhp and another with 804. their top speeds are the same.. the real difference is when they are running low speeds corners.

Is that the way it should be??

what if i set RBR over 804.. something like 820?? ( actually i did it and the top speed is the same as 804 bhp) is that right too?

Im asking it cos im trying to build a decent perf set based on your amazing V.2 but im having these questions..

another test i did :

i set

ferrari 804 bhp driver 17000, 0 ( i set zero to check the performance without any variation)

redbull 820 bhp driver 17000.0 ( i set zero to check the performance without any variation)

REDBULL should have more top speed... but actually they have the SAME top speed.

and yes.. added your torque and for sure your physic file.

thanks

@ pimpones1:

Mate,
what you get is normal GP4 output.
For minor horsepower differences you will get top speeds with hardly noticeable variations.
But if you test with a car set at 804bhp and another one set at 900bhp you will see the a huge difference in acceleration and top speed.
The revmeter goes easily above 18000rpm and if you rearrange the gear ratios top speed is very much higher.

As for the performances, get from my signature the 2009 Generic Performance file based on my physics and torques, after kind permission of "gitanes" (Y) who allowed me to use as base the 2009 perf files he has created and released.

Where do you download GP4 Torque Editor from? Can't find it on google and gp4argentina doesn't seem like a site for GP4.
Thanks mate. will try them later

... but it is very much a site for GP4 (and some more stuff..) and the Torque Editor is still available over there:
[www.gp4-argentina.com] (http://www.gp4-argentina.com/modules/Downloads/gp4arg/editores/Torque_Editor_1.0.zip)
(You may need registration to be able to download)

What are the ways to make the AI run as close to the real timings? The AI-s are doing 1:30s at Sepang and maybe I drive bad, but I find it really hard to do that kind of time.
@ WestPunx:

The way to make AI run real timings is fully explained in the file "GP4form_2009_Physics&Torques_(Cyberacer)_ver.2.0.doc" included in the physics and torques pack v.2.0.

Summarized:
- Use in Sepang the soft-tyres version of the physics (not the supersoft - it's written in the *.doc).
- Adjust the AI gear ratios to get the real top speed at about 17700-17800rpm.
- Setup the AI front and rear wings.
- Adjust air resistance to get the real top speed at the end of the two long straights.
- Finally, adjust the track grip to get the real lap times.

Test in qualify mode with cars loaded with fuel for 4 laps and make the above adjustments to get the real top speeds recorded during qualifying and the real lap times recorded during Q2 session.

Then the race lap times and top speeds will be less and very close to the real ones, as AI and you will drive a car loaded with fuel for the 1st stint.
