2010 - What will you drop from your Grand Prix 4?

2010 will have 13 teams and 19 races which makes a full accurate 2010 season for Grand Prix 4 impossible, here's the line up:

Teams
1. McLaren
2. Mercedes
3. Red Bull
4. Ferrari
5. Williams
6. Renault/Prodrive
7. Force India
8. Toro Rosso
9. Lotus
10. Campos
11. US F1
12. Virgin GP
13. Sauber

Circuits
1. Sakhir
2. Melbourne
3. Kuala Lumpur
4. Shanghai
5. Catalunya
6. Monte Carlo
7. Istanbul
8. Montreal
9. Valencia
10. Silverstone
11. Hockenheim
12. Budapest
13. Spa-Francorchamps
14. Monza
15. Singapore
16. Suzuka
17. Korea
18. Yas Marina Circuit
19. Sao Paulo

Which two teams and which two circuits will you drop from your game? - If you don't use the "1995 mod" way or csm...

----

I'd drop Campos Meta 1 and Virgin GP from the teams and Singapore and Korea from the circuits.

Theres no need to drop any team or track....

2005 mod can show you how to do it for tracks and 1995 mod can show it how to do for teams.

Is the number of teams available in GP4 hardcoded into the gp4.exe file? Does anyone knows the byte/offset where this is defined?

AFAIK, it's not 1 byte to change but a lot of them because it's not a global variable but a local variable used for each and every game feature.

Thanks Lo2K. But is it possible to know where all of those specific bytes are and edit them in a way that it works? This may be totally silly here and of course this question has already been raised but it´s a shame, i like so much 80´s seasons and in that time 26 cars started mostly 13 teams it woul be great if it could be done. Another way would be if we had the source code/decompiler in a way that we could modify the game. This is a dream right?

BTW who owns GP4 source code? Infogrames doesn´t exist anymore so who owns it now? Couldn´t we make some pressure on current owners to make gp4 source code free?

There are differents problems:

- Even if GP4 becomes an abandonware one day, you couldn't get and modify the Source code (well, not officially) because of copyrights which always belong to the property of the owner (Atari now, ex-Infogrames ). So, you can't get the source code for free and officially.
- But imagine it is possible to get the source code, you have to be a good programmer to modifiy it. It means also to modify all the structure of the game... Well, it would be a hard, long and fastidious work.

Today, you can only tweak the game from his actual form. It means, hiding cars in game, for example or hiding stuff, moving objects, adding scripts or tweakers which modify results, performances, physics, images, names, cameras, helmets, tyres and St. Wheels positions etc... or replace cars and tracks by another ones but not adding new stuff the game has not provided.

Better is, as it has been said above, to use existing tracks and cars for the moment... After, you will have to make choices for your own season or maybe to alternate cars into your championship ( some cars 1 track out of 2)

Maybe it exists another ways but I don't know them.....

Well I have a full and complete 2009 hires accurate tracks which I have put into TSM and made a track pack. From that, I made a 2010 track pack using a hires canada and germany from a 2008 trackset I had. Here's how it looks ingame:

2009 ingame:

2010 ingame:

I would love to relase my TSM Track Packs for 2009 and my 2010 but don't know who made the circuits and if they are updated versions of someone elses. Anyone know if there's anything I can do to relase these without pi$$ing off anyone?

Thanks,
Iain.

I dropped Singapore and (not made yet) Korea from my TSM mod as GP4 only supports 17 tracks, not 19... As I said in the first post.

My 2009 Csm mod supports 19 tracks :-)

Why you call it "TSM mod", if i translate it correctly i assume "TSM Track Pack"

Any chance for a public release, Jorge ? It is a pity to see that such a great 2008 mod is only "private", really causes pain.

Happy racing from Germany !!!

Hi Helmut,

I cant publish it because of an author.

Its a real shame because many users could enjoy this.
