Changing the track order?

Hi,

I am wondering how you change the track order so that it matches the 2009 season?

I have GPxPatch, is it possible to change the order with this and how do you go about doing it?

hexeditor? a tool that allows you to modify the gp4.exe

2) is easy than looks like manipulate in binary mode... :p

what's the point of using that method when its much easier with cmagic and gpxpatch?

nothing more than inform the existence of other alternative than these two already known by all ... which can be difficult for one, can not be to another and know that there are 3 methods and not just 2 gives more options to choose the path that we judge to be the easiest, OK? :p

I have tried changing the track order with Gpxpatch and it doesn't appear to work.

When i have changed them round you just appear to race around in the sky with what appears to be the original track in the background????

How exactly are you supposed to change them in GPxPatch?

Sorry for so many questions, i'm very new to this!

possibly did not work because there is no "prefix"... prefix indicates the .wad that s1ct*.dat will load, understand? :p

Here is the way I did it.

1.) Renamed the tracks after the 2001 order and copied them into the root folder of GP4.( Melbourne is still melbourne2001.wad cause it was the first race in 2001 as well, but Bahrein is interlagos2001.wad etc.)

2.) Thereafter I opened my language file. (\MenuData\PC\GP2001\gp2001_"language".gps) with notepad, and changed the name of the tracks...

yes, that way works, but it is much more difficult.

with that method, you have to change it every year, renaming several different wads. with the other method (see the link below or phantaman's last post), you can change them all you like - all you have to do is change it in GPxPatch once you add the prefixes to each dat.


once again, here is the method i've been using for almost 5 years now. i recommend you try it out
