controller config

i was wandering if anyone could assist me,

im currently trying to connect my ps3 controller to my laptop

and then map the controls to suit the game

has anyone got any way of doing this

When I configure my rumblepad, I had to press load control set, in controller options, then cancel that, so I didn't load anything, and when I returned to the previous screen I was able to configure my pad.
