Notice that some releases comes with some rendered pictures, so it doesnt look like this ´´ in game´´.

And if you have a low spec machine, unfortunally you cant expect so much from this game, considering it needs a good videocard to run properly(MODS)

All you have to try is change the f1 graphics file.. theres a bunch of them available on this comunity.

Pick up one wich matches your pc and have fun Bud.

As Pimpones said, dont expect to much from a low end pc.
F1graphics wont help you so much because all you are doing
are compromising areas of Gp4 for example as mirrors, quality
textures, quality of the shapes etc.

Suggestion: update your pc you will get better graphics,
better fps and most important you will enjoy a lot more
the game with all mods.

Did the OP even look at the GP4FAQ? Did the OP even read my post? The GP4FAQ contains a link on how to get good graphics on a lo-spec machine! Sheesh, this guy wants to be spoon fed, after YELLING at us! Classy.

I THINK what he meant by that is that his brother's laptop specs are worse than his, and yet his bother's game looks much better than his own laptop. Am I right GP_maniac?

And what is your specs exactly GP_maniac? And if you can, your brother's specs?

Let's try to be constructive, instead of insulting...

Hmmm, oldish thread but I didn't want to start a new one when this was here.

My PC recently died and I'm using a laptop at the moment.

My specs are

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz

RAM: 3.00GB

Graphics: unsure about this it doesn't say anywhere, I downloaded everest to see my pc specs and this was the closest I think I found.

Video Adapter Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (1324218 KB)

I don't think this is the graphics card, I'm unsure. If anyone knows how I can find my graphics card specs if this isn't it please say so.

OK how well could my PC run GP4 with mods? Should I just wait until I get the PC replaced?

The laptop does not have a graphics card, it has an on board graphics chip. The item you listed is it. See if you can download the latest drivers for it. As for whether or not GP4 would run, do a test is the best option. By the look of it, it probably would.

It will probably run, but wont look too nice as you wont be able to have any/much aa or af at any decent resolution :(

How can I do a test? Try another game that I already have?

i have a laptop with that onboard graphic: my max resolution is 1280*800 and it gives some problems with shadows on track

Mine is 1366 x 768

The resolution sounds the same but the screens are probably a different shape, Mine is pretty wide screen.

Cool you have the same chip, so shadows are a problem, like their not there? that's not too bad.

How shiny are the cars?

well, for shadows they appear too late on the tarmac, and for the rest i tried once a good f1graphic.cfg and it looked fantastic, but PO raised to 200 (poor CPU, only 2.2 ghz)

You can check your PO by pressing O ingame. Ideally, it should not go above 100.
