Problems to install 1993 cars

Hello,

I've some problems to install the cars from the 1993 season. I've followed all the steps that stands in the gp4form of the cars, butt every time I want to start a new game, I'm driving with the 2001 cars. What's wrong ?

Which editor you use to install the cars?

Well, I'm not using an editor actually. The gp4 form said that you don;t need a editor. this is what the gp4form says:

Liveries
1. Open your cars.wad file using EasyWad.
2. Copy desired .tex files into cars directory
3. Lunch the game and choose one of the Benetton drivers
4. Have fun

It's not a full mod, but seperate cars that you have to install

Okay, I've the wadupdater now, but I;ve never used it. Can you tell me in a few steps how I have to use it?

ok, no problem - sorry first for my bad english i must practice it more-

first you install the editor in your gp4 folder

i create a folder named wadupdater to install this editor in

than create for each team a folder in the wad folder

for example put all the carfiles from the benetton in the benotton folder you create - the *gp4 files and the *.tex files

you download the cars from gp4db.com ?

if you really followed the steps you posted it's clear why it didn't work. you have to do the same with the .gp4 files as well.

Okay. so far I've done all the things. yes, I;ve download tyhe cars from gp4db.com

What did you mean n00bino with .gp4 files ? which files do you mean ?

n00bino ist right - the carfilse are *.gp4 files that are the carbodies and the *tex files - that are the paintings

for the wadupdater way - now you must open in the edtitor and select in the first line the folder you want to install in the cars.wad

for example i want install the 93 benetton i - i select the folder benetton in the first line - and select in the second line my cars.wad i will patch

for example first line: C:\Programme\Infogrames\wadupdater\93cars\benetton
second line C:\Programme\Infogrames\cars.wad

Okay, but the car files that I;ve download did not contain any car files only text files

I have selected the folders which button i do have to choose?

ah you only download the liveries at gp4db.com - you must download the version files

does it work now for you? you must choose the update wad button - a blue process bar show you that the files were copy to the cars.wad

after that you have the new cars in your cars.wad

whahah Ow sometimes i can be so stupid I tested it and now it works fine altough I've some questions

I have still the 2001 tyres, is there any way to change them into the goodyear slicks ? en I have still the 2001 cockpits if I;m driving in cockpit view, how can I change that ?

And the last question: is there a way to change a team in the slot of my choice ? because the full 1993 grid isn;t available so i want the three 2001 teams replace with 1994 cars. I saw the tyrell and minardi and footwork of 1994 but only the footwork he replaced automatically. So my question is: how can I put the 1994 tyrell and minardi with the 2001 minardi and sauber ?

i use the gp4master editor to change the tyres and the cockpit

to use the 94 cars you must rename the *.gp4 files in the slot files names you want to use

for example: the tyrell94 in car_sauber_car1_lod_0.gp4 but never change the *.tex files

I use Easywad and like the name says, it's very easy to install new cars.
