excuse me...?

sorry to butt in here folks as i dont actually own GP4 but have considered buying it for ages, i was jsut wondering how well do you guys think GP4 would run on this spec. (probably very poorly)

Intel celeron 500MHZ
96mb ram
10gb hard drive
windows 98se
intel onboard graphics (approx 8mb)

and is there a software mode?

Sorry buddy! i don't think u can even get the game started with that config.But I advise u to buy gp4 anyway and keep it safe till u get a new rig.I say u will never regret that bought gp4 once u get to play it on a high end system.

Maybe, if your motherboard have an AGP slot, it would be good that you get a G-force 4 DDR, that costs only about 60

its a cpu intensive game tho

The minimum graphics card is 16mb.

If you get a cheap (i have a geforce2 mx400 64mb and they`re also cheap)graphics card you might get 13/16 fps with everything tweaked.

The Celeron will always be a problem whatever graphics card you get

I was running Gp3 with a Pentium II 300Mhz, with 128 Mb, and a Voodoo3 2000 16Mb PCI, and it runed good.. at 640*480.. 16bit.. low detail, but runs!

I thought this was about GP4

it is but i beat u. i was running gp3 with a p166 64mb ram and voodoo 2

it wasnt over clocked either and it ran it at 10fps looked pretty good too

until i realised i had like 2 colors compared to a geforce 2

The PII 300 was my office machine. I had a P166 too, with 64 Mb RAM EDO.. and the same voodoo3, but I never made run Gp3 enough proper

ive got gp4 looking amazing, nearly everything turned on and its at 25fps 1024*768 on a 1.4ghz, 512mb ram, geforce 2 mx 400 64mb

I run Gp4 with P4 1.7 Ghz.. 512 Mb RAM BUS, and a G-Force 4 440 64Mb DDR.. and it run at 800*600, high detail, and 28 fps. I don´t find too much difference in the image quality between 800*600 with antialiasing, and 1024*768, the PO of this mode is bigger than the image quality difference. My English is loathsome, i don´t know if you understand me
