F1 2002 Mod [WIP] (Closed)

Hi Guys!

For a long time, I have been trying to get some, at least half quality 2002 cars. I have tried to convert cars from the original F1C shapes and textures but I did not manage to do that until Lee contacted me about it. So now we have decided to make a 2002 mod with all the cars from the F1C 2002 Season, tobacco and non-tobacco. If we want and feel that the time is there, maybe make low down force rear wings for Monza to. Anyway, only the cars are being made here, maybe helmets to. We have to see about that, but performance and physics have not been made yet.

Anyway, two cars have been completed, the third, the McLaren MP4-17 is almost at the finish line

Good project but maybe you can rework thse shape, you can add some polies to made it better.

if you take the cars from original f1c then it will be illegal because ISI will not give permission for that

I really dont think ISI would care much, its an old game and they will not profit from it. And I think the ones that would hold the copyrights of those cars would be EA, not sure thought. Reeeeeaaaally doubtfull they would do something about it.

but without their permission its leecching which should not be allowed.

Would you say this if someone from this forum had made the cars? what about the cars modyied for gp4 back in 2002, just because they are old does not make it ok. most carmakers in this forum dont do it for profit either, and this is actual copyrighted material, so it wouldnt just be 'leeching' like a gentlemans agreement is broken in gp4 forums, but a criminal act.

This is leeching and people in this forum should practice what they preach. Otherwise we may as well all start modifying without permission.

if there is a leeching problem why don't you ask the authors of gp4 italias 2002 mod and update those cars?

Games get cross modded all the time, gtl has now become available for gtr2 and gtr evo without permission of simbin. Is that leeching too ?

oh my god, do you really think EA will care if we convert these cars that where made 2003 by a gamecompany who don't even have the F1 Licence anymore? Honestly, do you think they really care?

well, if that's the case, I could send EA a mail and see if they even bother answering it.

I could also ask if GP4Italia did the same when they converted the 1999 and 2000 mod from F1C to GP4?
