Increasing PO per lap

Hi all,
since a few months I encountered some problems with the PO. For example when I do some quicklaps, my PO starts at the first lap with 50% average. The second lap, it increases to, let's say, 70 average, and so on per lap, and in a few laps, it's way above hundred, and the framerate drops.
I don't have a high end computer (2,5 years old, 1.4 ghz notebook, 512mb ram, ATI radeon onboard vidoecard), but I was always able to play GP4 quite normal (default game I could do races quite smoothly, with the newer mods I was at least able to do some quicklaps quite smooth, not races).
So why does it run less good now, I didn't change anything. Just because my computer gets older for example?
(Tried new drivers, fresh install of the game and CSM, decrease gfx, nothing matters, only when i decreased the graphics, the PO started lower, so it took more laps to increase above 100)

That's possible, my notebook becomes quite hot when it does a lot of processing, could it be the fan is getting bad or dusty?

In the very beginning I bought GP4 and didn't have a good pc to run it with 
I went to a friends place to play and I encountered the same problem. However, pressing Esc, save the game, and returning to cockpit solved the problem for like 5 laps or so. That can't be a overheating problem can it..? Because when returning to cockpit, it completely solved the speedproblem of GP4.. Even when I returned to cockpit really fast.. (just after pressing Esc and saving the game)

Could it have something to do with the data saved by the game during the laps, occupying the memory?

That was my thought too.. But it can't be RAM memory because my new pc had the same amount of memory as my friends pc, and I didn't experience this with my own pc..
