Performance problems!

can anyone give me help?
im using a physics file, a performance file and magic data
the physics file started out as the default that comes with the 2003 megapatch but ive edited it and set it to my own taste.
same for the performance file, I've edited the HP for all teams and set it to what it is in Real F1.
the Magicdata is that of Andrea Morabito
Im finding that the Comp Cars are way too fast i just cant compete with any of them!!!.......I know the obvious thing to do would be edit the performance file and lower the HP but i want to keep that has real to F1 has i can so is there anything i can do with the other 2 files to slow the cars down and give me a chance!!????????

Have you made sure that Team Dependant Power is selected?
Have you changed the Physics HP Value? as you may have changed the performance of say Ferrari to 880HP, but left the Physics at 700HP
