My teamate is Hex Workshop from BreakPoint Software.

You can search more through www.download.com (?) for freeware and shareware hex editor.

if you use HexEditor 2.0 from this site:
then i could help.
you right click on the gp4 file. choose 'hex editor'
hit 'ctrl-f' (find), type in tga hit ok.
it should show some tex names (minardi_1.tex etc)
type over the minardi bit with what you want.

look in the red circle

the 'd201_1.tga' is one of the tex names. so you would change the d201 bit.
make sure the new name is the same length as the old one. (minardi to min2003 for example).

For editing exe files i use xtgold (does anyone remember it ? it comes from dos times).

It has a built in hex editor, along with other useful utilities. The only limit is that it manages only 8.3 filenames, so whatever file you need to edit it must be renamed to the original name after being edited.

If you are interersted give me your email (it's about a 2M zip file)
