Editing the Directors Camera choices

Is there a way ( or a program ) what edit "his" cars choices ?
Sometimes ( to be honest very often ) "his" choices are far away from the real "battle"
I wonder if there is a way to make his follow the cars with the LESS gap between them ( and just changing the camera position )
