Newbie help with accl/brake problem

Hi guys, i have just installed Gp4 for the first time and used major toms f1graphics file, everthing seems ok, decent PO at quite high FPS, but i have one problem stopping me enjoying this excellent sim, my acceleration and braking sensitivity. All i need to do is just touch the brake and the wheels lockup, and its the same for the accelerator, the slightest touch and iam at 100% throttle. Is there anybody who has overcome this problem and if so could they enlighten me, because its really spoiling my enjoyment of this excellent sim.

Oh and my wheel is a Thrusmast Ferrari force feedback.

it seem that gp4 is thinking your wheel is a digital controller.
are you sure you choose the right settings in options menu/controller
there are 4 choices keyboard/joypad/joy/wheel as well a personalized one
try with personalized too.you are forced to calibrate again your wheel.
