er yes it is, Fernando Alonso is number 1, so McLaren will be 1 and 2, Renault 3 and 4, Ferrari 5 and 6 and so on in constructors championship order.

the champion always takes 1 with him.

doesn't matter about the pitboxes, McLaren were 1 and 2, Ferrari were 3 and 4, because Mika was champ in '99, so he and his teammate were 1 and 2.

the champion team can choose which garage they have in the pitlane, so maybe Ferrari were allowed to choose the first garage at Monaco, because they won the constructors title in '99. or it might have just been a mistake, but i doubt it.

The order of the garages in the pit-lane is determined by the constructors.
In 1999 Mika Hakkinen(McLaren) won the drivers but ferrari won the constructors, which is why ferrari had garage #1 in 2000
[www.formula1.com]

Car #1 goes to the driver who won the previous years drivers championship, no matter what team he drives for.
In 2006 alonso won the drivers with renault but because he will be at mclaren for 2007, mclaren will have car #1,2.
Although mclaren have car #1,2 they will still be in the third garage in the pit-lane because they finished 3rd in the constructors.
[www.formula1.com]

In terms of GP4 it's not so straight forward.
If mclaren are the first team in the game then they will get the first garage.
If mclaren are the third team they will get the third garage but the menu for selecting drivers will seem odd because drivers 1,2 are not top of the list.

i still use the original 2001 order, it's easier to keep track of which car files need to be changed when adding a new car. and i don't care which order the cars are placed in the pitlane.

Muks, why dont you edit the car shape's names via team editor. Put all the cars in with renault = benetton and then open team editor go to the last tab and switch the car shapes around?

@Honda:
No team order between Honda & Jenson Button

@Ferrari:
Massa have to let Kimi win (but no team order)

@McLaren:
Team orders to pitcrews to let Alonso pass ...
