Weird CSM Graphics Bug

Okay, so... got this very weird glitch on some of my CSM mods. In particular anything past 2019, but my main issues are the 2001 and 1994 F1 mods. I'm really wanting to get 2001 fixed, cos that stuff was my bread and butter!

For context, here's my resolution settings. I tend to keep it to 4:3 cos I'm a purist and wanna keep the game's format as such:
1280 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Horizontal Resolution
1024 ; [RELEASE] Game 3D Vertical Resolution

Now... I've tried changing the aspect ratio (much to my annoyance), but I'm still getting these texture bugs.

And yes, I've tried re-installing. It's almost 4AM where I am and I've tried to fix this problem 9 times now. I'm at my wit's end.

I don't know what you've changed, but it looks like the helmet shapes are not loading. The mods you're speaking of has a tweak to enable driver specific helmet shapes and what you're seeing are the results of that. Changing your resolution won't affect this, so something else must have changed.

That's just it. I haven't changed a thing outside of the aspect ratio, and even then it's really just to take the game out of window mode. I tried adjusting Tweaker settings, and I'm getting no improvements. Also just noticed the wheels look super scummy. Something which I didn't try beforehand, and it looked fin before I had to reinstall everything.

Have you done anything with the patch folder, the tyres and helmet issues are linked and it looks like the cap files in the patch (or possibly the patch.ini file) isn't modifying the gp4.exe

you managed to leave the helmets and wheels individually, the problem there is the textures that are not correct, you are probably using very old textures, change them for the most current ones

Literally nothing. I hate the fact I have to keep saying this, but quite literally nothing has been changed. I downloaded the mod as is. But I'll try and reinstall it one last time, and let you all know how that goes.

This is using the 2020 build of the 2001 mod, which I got here [www.grandprixgames.org]

Now... here's the entire process. PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT ELSE I COULD HAVE DONE WRONG.

So 3 parts, all from the remastered 2001 mod. I have not change a thing regarding these. And this same mod worked perfectly fine on my old computer.

I did the same, downloaded fresh and installed all three CSM parts.

Checked the patch.ini is correct:


Check Zaz Tools log after loading:


Load game (no changes to any settings):

Is this what I'm meant to be looking for?


also if anyone's wondering, I occasionally use Retrobar for nostalgic purposes

Yes, but in CSM, go to File, then delete all wadcache, then load again and see what the log says

Ohhh okay. I'll give it a shot.

Well @#$%& great. That just trashed all of my car textures. @#$%& why is this happening now...? I'm close to just giving up...







You know what? I'm going to delete all my GP4 stuff, reinstall ZAZTools, reinstall the mods and @#$%& pray that this is the one that fixes it.

If not, I @#$%& quit!

But... earlier, fongu said the resolution isn't the issue. "Changing your resolution won't affect this, so something else must have changed." - those are his exact words.

I god damn reinstalled everything and nothing. Not one thing has fixed anything. In fact, I've managed to go backwards here. Literally the only thing I've done since the other day is reinstall the same sodding game 8 TIMES NOW. 8. Times. I am seriously at my wit's end.

Okay, so I spoke to someone privately and I somehow managed to get the mods to work again.

Y'all can delete the thread now.

Okay, so... the problem I had here before is still prominent with 2001 and 1994, and now less prominent in certain mods like 1984 where the wheels are scuffed. It's still really weird. Can you guys please keep being patient and help me out here?
