The links here don't work, so I don't know if I was able to do everything correctly. I have installed ZAZ Tool 1.27c in another folder. Not with programs. I restarted the PC. Haven't replaced any files now. I set everything up as it says with Service Pack 2 and as an administrator. When I try to start the program it asks two questions which I answer with yes and then nothing happens. He doesn't open it. Then I replaced your files with mine, but it doesn't open here either. I installed DirectX, Java, Runtime, Net Framework, everything. But nothing changes at all. I can't get the program to run. I'm desperate.

Sorry, I don't know how to help you then... :(
The last tip I can give you is to check your antivirus and see if it has detected the program as malicious, then restore the file and create an exception.
I have already done this too. But I thank you very much for the help.

Does anyone else have an idea?
just to clarify it once again for those who don't want to go through the whole thread:

THERE IS NO VIRUS IN ZAZ TOOLS!

Some anti-virus softwares give a false alarm. This is most likely because CSM can run external scripts (like batch-files) or even execute external executables (you could in theory execute a virus from a mod, but there are no known mods who do this).
Second: csm.exe and csmcore.exe (and most likely all the other apps in zaz tools) don't have a certificate like most modern apps do. This is because it is written on a 20 years old version of visual studio and ZaZ has to run a virtual machine everytime he want's to update it.

About all the compatibility-settings: this is non-sense if you ask me and rather leads to new issues than solving anything. I can run all version of ZaZ tools perfectly fine on all versions of windows without any modifications. If you encounter any errors, try to add an exception in your firewall and/or anti-virus software. Also don't install it to Program Files. Just install it to your C-drive (like C:\ZaZ Tools\ for example).

Third: If you encounter problems with CSM 1.27c, try 1.27b (see link to the ZaZ Tools archive on page 1). Most newer mods require ZaZ Tools 1.27b only and this version is, for whatever reason, not detected by anti-virus software.

And last but not least: What's the difference between the versions?

1.26: The last "official" release of ZaZ tools (almost 15y old now)
1.27: Same as 1.26 but including all the updates that came with the online updater back in the days (lots of bugfixes!)
1.27b: Fixed a bug with patch.ini
1.27c: Fixed a bug with pre-execute variables
(all updates were made by ZaZ-himself btw, he just doesn't run a website anymore, that's why i posted them here)

To make it short: If you encounter any issues with ZaZ tools, it's most likely related to your computer and not to ZaZ Tools or any settings within ZaZ Tools.

I would also like to thank you for your message. It's great how people are trying to help here.
I can only speak for myself and I know that it is not the program and there is no virus. Anyway, I only have the Windows firewall and virus protection and I simply deactivated them completely. But it has nothing to do with that either way.

I have now tried version 1.27, 1.27b, 1.27c. All three don't start. Then I installed CSM 1.25. It starts, but immediately closes the program again. ZAZ Tools was also running on my PC. I know it's my PC. But I just don't know what it is. I installed it on C:/ZAZ, on D:/ on D:/Grand Prix 4, tweaked everything. Or is the error that GP4 is not installed on C? But I've never had that problem before. In addition to the tips here, I also received tips via private message and the tips didn't help either. It's up to me, but what? I don't know what else I can try either. The only thing would be to install GP4 on C.
I have now done everything that can be done. As described, all tips have been implemented by several users, but CSM simply doesn't start for me. Also different versions. Nothing helps.
Would you like to see a video to help me? Why could it possibly be that it doesn't work?
Hi, what version of Windows do you use?
really weird. only thing i can think off is a full deinstallation of zaz tools, delete all files, reboot, delete the registry files (!), reboot again and then install it again. also add an exception in windows defender to the folder where gp4 and zaz tools are installed (in my case thats c:\infogrames).
i doubt that will help but at least it's worth a try.

Or install it on another drive than C where Windows normally is installed if possible.

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
I have installed it on so many different drives and paths, the problem is the same. It opens other files from the ZAZ tool, for example the one with the routes, but not what is important. I also installed Netframe, Java and everything else there is. I set it to Windows 98, 95, everything there is to choose from. Firewall issued. First started the game, restarted Windows, no matter what I did, it won't open the program. He asks me the two questions when I open the program, I press yes on both of them and then nothing happens.
did you tried it already with disabled write protection at the program exe?

oh and here's a working link with zaz tools 1.26 [www.mediafire.com]

I still have the problem that it doesn't start the ZAZ-Tools program, as it has been for months. After installation he asks me two questions about the exe file and the mod folder, but then he doesn't start the program. I've tried everything that's offered here for help, nothing works. I find that very strange. What could be the reason why he simply won't open the program?

Try this,

In windows security, App & Browser control, Exploit protection settings:

Put Data execution Prevention (DEP) : Off by default.

This works in my PC.

I don't know what DEP is.

Hi Guys

Fongu new version to 1994 mod makes mandatory use the version 1.27c.
Looks like we have some updates to 1.27c but not very clear how to use it.
I download it and it have just a csmprocess setup.exe file
I executed it but only creates a diretory with just one *.exe file.

Can anyone includes the full update or just need to use this version here?

I little lost here with this csm version :-)

Install ZaZ Tools 1.27c first. Then install the csmprocess_setup update.

Hi Oggo thanks for your fast answer!!

The csmprocess_setup.exe generates just one file csmprocess.exe on the csm 1.27c directory.

I just need to leave it there to make it works with the modified version?

I ask because the csm.exe version was not changed. So the modified version is just this new csmprocess.exe file?

I did not understand how it will work if csm.exe was not modified.
Sorry for the confusion, I've tried to make things more clear on my side.

You need CSM 1.27C installed first.
This update adds csmprocess to the Zaz Tools folder. (This file was previously included in Zaz Tools, but was missed off from more recent editions).

In testing, we did identify some issues where if brackets (parenthesis) were in the GP4 path (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\...) then csmprocess (and other things like batch files in the IMSA mods) do not work. This new installer offers a solution to that by creating a junction (works like a shortcut) that removes those brackets.

In short, this new installer adds csmprocess, which is vital for the injectdll function to work via CSM.
