New computer and GP4

I'm going to buy a new compueter but reading older posts give me some questions.

Dual Core processors like AMD Athlon 64 3800 don't cause problems if you select CPU0 in GPxPatch, is this true?

But the main problem is the graphic card, i've read that some people have problems with Nvidia cards, and i'm planning to buy a G-force 6600 DVI 256MB PCI-E or G-Force 6600GT DVI 128MB PCI-E (not decidec yet)
Should i buy one of these or an ATI (RADEON ABIT RX700 256MB PCI-E)

I have an AMD Athlon 64 3500 and an Ati x700 256MB card. Gp4 runs with all settings to max and ultra high carsets at an amazing 30+fps.

The occasional stutter was caused by virus software/firewall, so I created a user profile in XP just for gaming with no other proggies running in the background.

Since this is actually a GP4 related question, it should be in the Gp4 forum. Shall I move it?

Dual core will be fine.

Don't get a 6200, awful card. The 6600GT is good, as ios the x700. iirc if you can get the x700 pro its by far the best. (as far as i can remember anyway)

I have a 3500+(single core), 1Go DDR400, a GF6600GT and I can run GP4 with original graphics at 1024*768 at 60img/s with correct PO (60-110) under dry conditions
1600*1200 @ 30img/s is also possible
No AA, AF at 8x.

anyhow and completely off topic, I just got FEAR and I can't play it above 800*600 if I want any decent framerate (about 30) and nice visuals
I tweaked it about half an hour at 1024*768 before discovering it won't help and that the only way to go above 20fps was to decrease res to 800*600...damn !
