i once had a wheel to big. i put the guiness book of records where hooky thins go against the bootom of the desk.

Anyway, cant help you there. All i can reccomend is cut the desk shorter with the saw :P

I had a similar problem with my wheel. Under my desk, about 2.5inches in, there is a bar running along which is essential for support. It's about 5inches 'tall', so made it impossible because it was set back. Anyway, I just cut through it - well, I got my Grandad to! You just need to get a wood plane, and shave off from the bottom of the desk the 0.5 cm or so needed in the area you will put the wheel. If it's more than that, get a handsaw from somewhere if you don't have one, and cut into the desk! It sounds drastic, but you've got no other option.

But your desk must be darn thick :-o

il dottore, you`re in luck,i`m a carpenter!.put the clamp facing the desk(as in your pic but at 90 degrees as if you were going to push the clamp onto the desk, mark either side with a pencil, then measure how far from the edge of the desk to the back of the clamp(between the jaws of the clamp)then mark that distance from the edge of your desk on the underside.made a straight line from the marks you made on the edge to the mark you made under the desk.so that you end up with a rectangular box under the desk.grab yourself a wood chisel,or borrow one.go round the lines with the chisel.then accross the rectangle to the depth you need, shave out the area with the chisel.job done.

That's like what I ahd, but the lowest part is set back a bit. I cut all of the lowest bit away to make a 7-8inch gap to fit the wheel clamp through.

Glad to see its' fixed :)
