PC running slow

i have updated my game the 2005 spec with new cars, hemlets, etc

but when i run it, it goes to slow and the game wont play properly

i have a Pentium 4, 2.0GHz, 256SDRAM, 40GB HDD AND nVIDIA MX400 64mb


this is good enough isnt it?

If you have updated using the 2005 mod & CSM it seems to automatically default to 18 FPS (it always does for me anyway).

If this is the case, just change the FPS either in the game, advanced graphics options, or in the graphics config. file.

Hope this sovves your problem.

hate to say this but you pc is a tad on the slow side its self. The SD ram has t go, and also atleast 512 mb of ddr would be a good start. That video card will run gp4 ok but It wont look to pretty. The processor should be fine for now, but usually if you have SD ram you wont be able to get DDR with out a new motherboard. sorry :S

You need a tweaked up graphics config file, theres one around, have a look at the gp4 faq, I recall fixing a link to a thread about it , upgrade if you can afford it, the ram is a bottleneck, ddr is the way to go. An agp enabled graphics card is a good idea, not that you need it for gp4 anyway. Theres graphic card threads on the go now in the off topic forum that might be useful. If you need upgrade help there's guys there that can help out as well. Get the cfg file for starters and see how you go.

The videocard is definitly the bottle neck - never buy anything
with two letters after the nvidia...

I would upgrade the videocard to a Radeon 8500

And what about something like 800XT, or 6600, 6800GT??

NO...its called nvidia 6600 GT / 6800 GT !
What i mean was nvidia GeForce 4 MX 400...
