GP4 Queries

Hey,

I've just got GP4 and it's amazing but I just want to ask a few questions. The first one is when GP4 starts up the videos in the game are choppy but the game runs fine. Is this a bug or is there anything I can change to make them work properly?

The second question is about FPS. I get 20FPS with almost everything set at medium, but when it is automatically set up it only gets 15FPS.

My setup is:

AthlonXP 1800+
Geforce FX5200 128mb
256mb DDR
80gb HDD
Intergrated soundcard

Is 15-20FPS normal for these specs?

Mart,

the fps you are getting sounds about right considering the ram you have. That might also be why your into is choppy, I would really recommend that you should have at le ast 512 to get into the really nice gameplay.

I find that I can get 36+ fps with everything on full, but sometimes on bootup the game autosets at 20 ... so I just recalibrate back up.

personally i dont think ram will improve frame rate,i used to have 512 but now have 2 gig,the still get the same frame rate,,its all down to processer and graphics card..
processer might make the videos play a bit choppy though..you,ll find gp4plays different on every pc even if its the same spec..

what sort of frame rate and performance should i be looking at with a P4 3.0GHz HT, 1Gb PC3200 DDR RAM, and a Geforce FX5200 128Mb graphics card as i always seem to have to put the graphics on medium to get a good frame rate. IS my card letting me down??

ive tried a lot of graphics cards over the past year due to my job,and always found ati to perform better then nvidea..a lot of people will disagree with me but its just my opinion.the best cheap card i tried was an "ati 256 meg 9600 powercolour" which now retails at about £70,i got 33 fps with max detail and lod 0 on everything,but struggled with hi res tracks..

sure is it.

I have a p4 2.8 ht , 2x512 mo ram dual channel with ati radeon 9800 xt and i run the game all full quality with 4x-4x aa. I get around 50-60fps with 2005mod

radeon 9800 xt is a great card,ive got an ati x800 xt 256 meg and im getting about the same performance so its worth investing in a good card,not just for gp4..

@spazz: how much should i expect to pay for one of them or similar??
