Sorry, but I'm still having problems with helmets.

There are four car_helmet_00-04.gp4 files in cars.wad and I have one car_helmet_00.gp4 file in Eugénio Faria's helmet packs. I've put the helmet files and all the others in cars.wad and repacked it. The old shape is still there.
There are also weird extra tex files in the unwadded Cars folder.

copy and paste 3 more versions of the new helmet you want to use, but rename them to 01, 02 and 03, then recompress the wad.

Thanks. I've got them working but the textures still don't fit. The top is always too small and the sponsor's band at the top is way too big.
I was using carset editor to export the textures, but I think that could be the problem. I have a stack of tga images though - how can I convert them to tex and just stick them in the cars.wad?

use GP4Master.

in GP4Master, go to Editors > Workshops > TEX workshops, then select 'open tex file'. then find the helmet tex file you want to update, and open it.

then select 'replace selected file', and find the tga you want to add to the helmet.

then click ''downsample textures', then click 'save tex file'.

then recompress the wad using Easywad, and it should appear in-game.

I tried that but the result is still the same. The helmets work fine, but the textures are wrong.

Here's a couple of shots:

open the tex file in GP4Master, and tell us what size the images are.

for example, when i open a helmet tex file, it says:

Texture 0: 1024 x 256
Texture 1: 512 x 128
Texture 2: 256 x 64
Texture 3: 128 x 32

even easier : use TexResizer 2.2 by Lo2K and read the readme :)

Ok:

Texture 0: 512 x 128
Texture 1: 256 x 64
Texture 2: 128 x 32
Texture 3: 64 x 16

Fixed it - just had to double the sizes to 1024 x 512!

I tried to resize with Lo2K's TexResizer.
It does change the size of the file to 1024 x 256 which is what i want but the file (tex) size (Kb) does not change and when I add to GP4Masters preview it is still small?

I had to physically double the size of the targa files in Photoshop, then put them back in with GP4 Master and then change the sizes with TexResizer at the end.
