Hey Doug,

of course I'm using my own setups. These cars fly through the Corners and I'm not able to keep their speed. So it seems to be a good saetup but my driving skills are not as good...

I'll create an issue René, thanks!

Thank you Rene for your hard work on GPX patch and other works. I was thinking, Where would we be if not for your hard work.
GPX Patch is the best add on to GP4 and i thank you for you efforts.

Well, finally I found the time to test this. The sidewalls are not white anymore, they are somewhere between white and gray and they all have four yellow OZ-Logos on them. Yes, the logos are on the sidewalls, and not on the rims. :( But the question I have is: Shouldn't be sidewalls and threads completely independent from each other? Why is it possible to combine anything else like I want to? I think there might be still a little bug inside GPxPatch, would you be so kind to take a quick look at this topic again Rene? Thanks. (I)

You can't combine 97 treads and 2013 sidewalls (which is what I assume you're trying to do according to your previous post) due to different mapping.

Well, I have no idea what is different mapped there. The tyres look like having an identical shape, just the sidewalls are inside out or something like that. Would you explain me what's the problem with the different mapping then? I want to learn it.

Certain tread textures need a special wheel shape to map the tread texture onto the whole tyre. So you should use tread textures that match the wheel shape, which contains the texture mapping.

I try back the failure system, trying to play with original 1991 failure rates ( [1991mod.drivingitalia.net] ), since they've always work well on all distance, from 20% to 100%. At the beginning i've used the same values, but almost all cars run till the end (just one retire). So since those values were for team, i twice them to see if they works better. And they does. Here the results (i delete the LAPS pharagaph since is futil)

30% lenght race (21 laps) INTERLAGOS

DNF drivers

Driver Causes Failure Prob.

Modena accident 16384
Capelli suspension 21504
Bayley transmission 14832
Nakajma transmission 16384

Checkered flag drivers with failure points

Driver Failure Prob.
Blundell 14746
Martini 16542
Guglielmin 21504
De Cesaris 14814
Gachot 14814
Moreno 12228

So almost close to what i expect, but less efficent than team failure rate.

compare the '97 tread and wheel textures to the 2013 ones, then you should quickly see what I mean.

Another thing i found is since 4.43 the poleman start slow as hell in each race (power and grip). Someone else can confirm that?

it isn't impossible to change the tyres with a different mapping. You just need an image editing software like Photoshop or GIMP :-)
