just tried latest version with 1995 mod and worked perfectly, very nice job.
just a few suggestions/wish list, if possible.

separate f1gstate.sav for each carset, because if you use a different driver in each mod then when you alternate between them all your set ups are reset to default etc.

separate .exe for each carset. i know youre going to include rim colours etc in future but it might be simpler to allow separate .exe files, because of all the .exe patching utilities out ther. such as madmans tweaker etc.

apart from that i cant think of anything id like changed, i can finally delet my multiple gp4 directories. thanks ever so much.

I'm adding a function that you include ANY file you want in a carset.
So even the .exe can be in a carset, but thats not the best way imho.
Lots of different people use different .exe files some use a decrypted file, some use 9.6 etc..
With 3 versions of gp4 (remember the 4.0 patch) and encrypted and decrypted .exe files, there are already 6 combinations possible!
Enough to know that some people are not satisfied with their new carset because they don't have the version they want.
So I will include something so you can put any file in a carset (good for own use) , and to all the mod builders out there that want to create a carset for CSM, i would like to give an advice:
Tell me what you want/need in the program.. :)

Ps. rim colours etc.. are already included in the latest latest version ;-)
And thanks for the compliment

so you can put any file in a carset
pretty much takes care of things :)

but.
when an original file doesn't exist I get a 'File not found' message - any chance of a more elaborate message telling where the problem is?

oh. i'm trying to put a track map(Loading) in the Menu Backgrounds.
does it support loading images yet?

how about having an unwadded wad that rewads itself when the game starts? it would make easy to test things..

About the error messages...
I'm going to fix that in the future, but that's the most boring part to build, and not most important (for now). If you are having errors and you don't have a clue what is wrong, just send the carset manager.log file and i will take a look at it.
It doesn't support loading pictures yet, but i will add that in the next version.
And about the unwadded wad... Do you mean an empty wad file where the program adds all files that are in the carset?
If that's what you mean.. yes i've been thinking about that too, cause i think it'll be cool to have an option to add single cars in a carset instead of using complete wad files. But first i'm going to focus on other things, because the programs' main perpose isn't edit gp4. Its more like a startup manager, although it modifies some stuff (but restores everything afterwards). Maybe the program will evolve to an true editor, but i'll have to catch up, because i started a little late with this app :)
But even if that is what you mean.. can you explain me how it would make things easier to test things? The more clear it is to me, the sooner you'll have your version which does everything you want ;-)

Ok... now i'll get back to work on the program because i recieved a lot of requests ;)

With "open wad" I think he means a folder in which all the files of the wad are and that you can add somehting without having to make a new wad again...so the extracted files in a folder which the program turns into a wad on start-up...

Not sure though, but it works like this in games like Medal of Honour, Battlefield 1942 etc...and it's very easy :)

thats pretty much it.
the game accesses the folder instead of the wad.

so putting in a new shape would involve copying it ot the folder and lcicking start, as opposed to unwadding-copying-rewadding.

and it's very easy
fingers crossed :)

Yup :)
I also got the track loading pictures working, and the 'add any file' to a carset seems to be working too. (so i got Gpaedia per season working also)

hey zaz,

it would be cool if you could specify different helmets per season!

and what about rim/arm colours? and helmet/steering wheel positions?

keep up the excellent work!!

sam2019, the helmets are in the cars.wad, so this can already be done...

Rims/arms can also be done already in the released version!

I just tested the new version and the open wad works good, however, it's not yet possible to have track specific open wads but I'm sure Ronald can fix it ;)

Hi sam...
helmets per season is already in since the first version.
And rim/arm colours are working also in the latest 'released' version.
(look at the carset manager thread)

helmet/steering wheel positions still have to be included.
I think it'll be in the next version.

Nice proggie !

yes specific track wads/dat files for each season would be very good.

then we could race ricardo's 2001 tracks for 2001 season, 2002 tracks for 2002 season etc...

you're not going to tell me this is already possible, are you?!!!

theres 2 more things i would like.

1. a championship editor, so i can specify which tracks and which order to run a championship (possible to run a 40 race season all at suzuka for exapmle).
read more here:

2. a program that gives me next weeks lotto numbers.

going on what you've done so far, these requests should be a piece of cake, right?
;)
