There was a bug in it's textures, because of they were displayed like 512x512, although I painted them as 1024x1024. This is now corrected, and textures are now much nicer and sharper:

what does early anad late version counts for? first or second half? first 3-4-5 and last 3-4-5 gps? besides, your work is amazing.

Looks better indeed. Found the same bug last month in almost all our work. Damn gp4master.

Yep, my Minardi and Renaults are also wrong...

@ watercolours

If I'm not wrong, this is the car Sauber used until Germany, where they introduced new complex bargeboard.
Completly new car, with new sidepods, started in USA.
If you're not very picky, this is the car which you can use until USA, and my late season car is for USA and Japan GPs.

In real life, they varied from race to race with different rear wings, few logos, like Malaysian flag, Swiss amblem, and so on. Nothing major though.

Both early European Av. version and Trust version are displaying scaled-down 512x512 textures in game, although tex files are 1024x1024.
Also with Renault is the same thing.

Otherwise it's fine, it just doesn't have sharp textures as it should have. It's very obvious from tcam view.

Jaguar is fine, nice and sharp :-)

I will update all those cars during these days, and post notification here.

This happens when using gp4master tex workshop to create textures.

Your ingame texture will be the same size as the tex file you loaded in first place to import your tga over it.
So, if you loaded one of original texes, 512x512 in size, your ingame texture will be scaled to 512x512 even if you imported 1024x1024 tga, and saved it as 1024x1024 tex.
I noticed that by comparing Viper ultra sharp textures with my somehow blured ones.

Solution is quite simple; don't use default tex as a base for GP4master importing, use real 1024x1024 tex instead. Viper's cars or my Jaguar or Sauber will do.

There's more detailed explanation on Viper's site, under "tutorials" section.

I myself had Erik notifying me about this problem yesterday...

I occurs in my renault to that's why the striping is blur sometimes.

This is what happens: for example you have a 256 X 256 tga but gp4 thinks it's a 1024x1024. He will then blow the 256 to 1024 and then use it(so you can imagine what that will look like). This is not worst, it is much worser when he uses a 1024 as a 512 (so use it as a smaller resolution than you gave up), dunno if that happened with yours Bojan?

Anyway... You can check if you have this problem on your own cars by opening the *.tex-files in Laurent Rousseau Texresizer en if necessary resizing them to the proper resolution. It's only a few minutes work and it doesn't need any importing of new tga's

regards,

Guyon

ok.
thats what i had when doing the itc mod. i was loading any old tex, then importing my tgas and exporting.
this resulted in looong loading times and po in excess of 5000 some times.

so i started using either yours, bojan, or vipers.
perhaps i should redo every tex file i ever made now :?

I think you`re talking about a downsample problem...

W@llierossi: Is very easy to get better the blury of the R23 ( besides you and Erwin made a very good JOB!!! the best R23 on net).

Downsamples:
Gp4 Master makes the downsamples accordingto RCR distances so when the car is near to the camera uses 1024-1024 text and while it was going far 512-512/ 256-256 and finaly 128-128 pixels.
On T-cam view uses 512-512 text, GP4 Master can do this thing in an automatic way but with less quality.
If you start with 1024 text and change resizing every downsample with GP4Master ( use any paint program to make every size) so you can get straight lines on the T-cam view is really symple.
Even you can use on first downsample 1024-1024 and you will get perfect T-cam texture but the new size of the text file will up to 2,236MB increasing the 1369 we have ( up to PO on every guy)
