How to get gpx info to the top of the screen?

Ello all, now how do i get the gpx info lined up at the top of my screen instead of the default right hand side? I downloaded a little patch ages ago but never could get the thing to work...the read me file being written in german didnt help matters either..hehe...so if there is a way/download available...could someone help me out?..
