Finally - 39 fps !

Hello all!
Upgraded my system last night from:
OLD:
Athlon 1200MHz @ 1333 MHz, 768 MB PC-133 RAM, Epox 8KTA+ with (VIA chipset)
to
NEW:
Athlon XP 2200+, 1024 MB DDR266 RAM, Epox 8RDA+ (with nVidia nForce 2 chipset)
I kept my ATI Radeon 8500 64MB video card...
The results of the upgrade are really noticeable: from about 20-21 fps in GP4 using the OLD hardware, it get now a whooping 39 fps with the NEW hardware. GP4 is transformed... it's now extremely driveable and it feels like a total new sim. All I can say is WOW!!!
I was totally in awe driving at 39 fps -- NOW GP4 is alive!
Thought I'd share that with you

PS: Interestingly, the Catalyst 3.2 drivers now work 100% better with my Radeon in the NEW configuration... before, I didn't get that good results and had to revert back to older drivers to gain some fps....

I have the same CPU on a Gigabyte VIA KT333 GA-7VR. I "only" have 512 MB DDR and a gforce4 ti42000 128 MB.
How did you setup your graphics (resolution, details, etc.)?
Are you using a special cfg file?

@ marcl: Nothing at all - not the 8500Pro.
I tested it with a friends computer. He owns the 8500pro and i own the gp4 ti 4600. I`m getting about 10 frames more than with the radeon card.
P.S. P4 1.6 (2.2 Ghz tweaked), 512MB 266 DDR CL2-2-2 Infineon, ECS P4S5A DX5.1, SB Live 5.1, MSI Starforce 4 TI 4600, WinXP.
42 frames with 100% avpo at wet start in monaco...
Nearly all details on.
Only static environment, mirrors only cars and some objects, full animated tv boards off.
I deactivated EAX and 3D Sound. But i`m buying a new sound card next week. No Soundblaster - i never will buy a card from creative.
Some people with me together tested gp4 with different soundcards on nearly same systems with same grafic config file. And we found out that terratec cards are much better than creative cards. The sb live 5.1 with eax on cost more than 10-15 frames. Think its a fault or bug in sound card drivers or gp4... Dont know.
